Cargo trousers originated around the 1930s-40s as part of the British and American army uniform. They were designed to be durable and functional; in fact, thanks to their many pockets, they made it possible to have everything you need on hand at all times. They became real work pants and around the 1990s they entered the world of fashion, initially only streetwear but through its various evolutions they became a staple of the entire fashion scene.
