Louis Charles Eloi Pernet, celebrated craftsman and cutler founded his renowned firm in the field of high-quality cutlery. Growing up in a family of cutlers, he began working as an apprentice when he was only 12 years old. After serving during World War I as head of surgical instruments, he returned to Biesles in 1920, where he started a workshop that became famous for the perfection of its work. In 1926, he opened an office in Paris, which became a point of reference for prestigious clients, including Cartier, Tiffany and Gucci. Pernet was also a skilled organizer, forming a team of skilled craftsmen, many of whom earned the title of M.O.F. (Best Workers of France). In later years, his business expanded, but he always maintained direct control over production. After moving to the Côte d'Azur in 1960, he died in 1963, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of luxury cutlery, continued by his family and son-in-law André Bonnafous, who maintained its high quality and prestige. The Pernet firm was distinguished by its attention to detail and use of artisanal techniques, creating objects destined to last and keep alive the memory of their creator.
